Can any Jeep, truck, or SUV be flat towed?
No. Eligibility varies by model year and drivetrain configuration. We need the exact vehicle details and applicable owner’s manual instructions before confirming a setup.
What equipment does a flat-tow setup need?
A typical setup includes a rated tow bar, compatible baseplate or approved mounting system, safety cables, lighting connections, and supplemental braking with applicable breakaway equipment. Additional components depend on your vehicle and motorhome.
Can you use my existing tow bar?
Possibly. We’ll need its make, model, rating, and condition, along with details about the mounting system and any adapters. We review compatibility before recommending reuse.
Can I flat tow a lifted Jeep?
A lift does not establish whether the vehicle is approved for flat towing. If the specific vehicle is eligible, we also need to assess connection height, bumper compatibility, equipment ratings, and the effects of its modifications.
Can I attach the tow bar to my bumper’s recovery points?
Only if the bumper and mounting-point manufacturer specifically approves the arrangement for flat towing and the adapters are compatible. A recovery point’s appearance or recovery rating alone does not establish flat-tow suitability.
Do I need to bring my motorhome?
